Tuning the current Triton MV

This page is mainly about the MV Triton, introduced in Australia for the 2024 model year and still the current range. Mitsubishi rates its 2.4-litre 4N16 bi-turbo diesel at 150kW at 3,500rpm and 470Nm between 1,500 and 2,750rpm. Those are the factory figures, not tuned results, and they are the starting point for any conversation about a Triton MV ECU remap.

The MV is sold in GLX, GLX+, GLX-R, GLS and GSR grades, in 2WD and 4WD, and in cab-chassis and pick-up body styles. Tuning support across those variants depends on the exact ECU, its software version, the vehicle's condition and any modifications already fitted, so we confirm what is possible for your specific ute before quoting. Every Triton receives diagnostic checks before any calibration work. We check for warning lights, stored fault codes, the service condition of the engine and any diesel-system issues that matter on a bi-turbo engine, including the intake, boost and exhaust after-treatment systems. If the checks find something that makes the vehicle unsuitable for tuning as it stands, we recommend the repair or maintenance first and discuss it with you before anything else happens.

Our Triton MV tuning process

1. Consultation and vehicle assessment. We talk through how you use the ute, what you want from it, and what has been fitted to it.
2. Diagnostic evaluation. Fault codes, live data and service condition are checked and recorded before we go further.
3. Vehicle-specific ECU calibration. A calibration is selected and configured for your engine version, software and compatible modifications.
4. Post-calibration checks and road verification. Checks and a road test confirm the vehicle is operating correctly and safely before it goes back to you.

Our tuning is carried out at our Ringwood workshop and verified on the road, and we do not quote power figures that have not been measured on your vehicle.

Towing and load use

Many Triton owners tow or carry loads for work. Tuning may make the ute feel more responsive under load, particularly in the mid-range where the 4N16 does most of its work. It does not change the vehicle's legal limits: towing capacity, gross vehicle mass (GVM), gross combination mass (GCM), axle loads and every other manufacturer limit remain exactly as Mitsubishi specifies them.
